I grew up with the Internet. Right from the beginning, for me, it was a tool for both research and connection.
Early on I signed up to Wiccanet, to read articles and share in the message boards (which are now defunct, but you can still look at them through The Way Back Machine - here's a link to one of the old pages: http://web.archive.org/web/20020207105330/wicca.net/wwwboard/wwwboard.html
on that board I'm listed as "Drake").
Now-a-days I still find that connection is one of the most important reasons why I use the Internet. I'm a member of lots of online groups, though the most notable ones right now are:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ElginAreaPagans/
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PoK-S/
It is because of connection that I decided to start a blog. As is usual for me I thought about it for a long time before doing anything about it. I've decided that I will have one (tada - here it is!), but I want everyone to know that I'm not yet entirely sure what all it will be, and I am fairly sure that I won't update it all too often. That's just my way.
So far, I think I'd like to use it as a forum for random musings, sharing interesting things like links and recipes, and perhaps, eventually, for a few Pagan Articles as well (as many of you know I was for several years the Editor and chief writer for The Magician's Apprentice, a small-scale self-published Pagan magazine out of St. Thomas Ontario). I look forward to seeing what this medium suggests to me.
There is an old saying - 'Live like the willow, that bends with the wind yet remains firmly rooted, and you will thrive.'
With blogging being a well accepted new medium for connection, I've decided to be flexable and try it. I hope you and I both find that an enjoyable experience.
Bright Blessings All,
Lady Apple Ament-Drake
